On July 12, The Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform at Brookings hosted a webinar on progress from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).
Established by the Affordable Care Act of 2010, PCORI was launched to promote evidence-based information to help people make informed health care decisions and to improve health care delivery and outcomes. PCORI leadership and staff have worked to develop the framework, standards, and methods necessary for providing patients and providers with beneficial information.
Dr. Anne Beal and Dr. Sharon-Lise Normand provided an overview of the progress made at PCORI, including a discussion of the National Priorities and Research Agenda, research funding and pilot projects, and methodological standards.
